By the time he pointed the gun to fire nothing, he could see the next chamber and clear it out. And to start, he could have weighted out the cilynder on his hands to have a hint of wich side the round was.
Would like to see him doing this on cartridges full of led but no gun powder to ignite. I bet my family that he would blow his head off!

I disagree. When he picks the gun up and says "I'm going to set it to a chamber I fell is safe" he points the gun away from him and spins the chamber a few times. All he would have to do at this point is push the guard that is stopping him from seeing where the bullet is a few millimetres forward and from the angle the gun is pointed at he will be able to see which chamber is loaded.

iv seen this technique before... oviously not the same same stakes though... when he got james to count to 6, though we didn't notice it, there was a slight fluctuation in his voice when he named the number of the barrel with the bullet in it... that is why derren told him it was so important that he must have the number cemented in his mind

You havent figured it out? Listen to part one again...he is saying "remember which ONE you are putting the bullet in, its important that you choose ONE to put the bullet in and that you remember the ONE...and so on..."He was telling him were to put the bullet. When he asked him to count he was merly testing him one laste time to make sure he was right,
