Description: Videos of Sifu Longs Master, Grand Master Zhang Bo fourth generation of Wu style Taiji Chuan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpaA7MEA1pM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNby6EWy_Cs Me, my Shifu Yan Long Jian 5th generation master of the Wu style, john, and Kenny practicing Taiji Kung Fu in cannon hill park, just some basic form apps, all spontaneous nothing prearranged or choreographed (though we probably should have, as it looks a little scrappy) still this is just to let you all know how Taiji looks when applied at speed. Our style is Northern Wu style Taiji Quan, and we are of the Wang Mao Zhai lineage. |

rory2501 ::: Favorites I'll see what i can do, and i should point out that whilst you are technically correct about the term sifu, there are some 1200 schools of Chinese martial arts in the UK and at everyone that appellation has been used since the firsts inception in the late 70's, so erroneous as the term may be within its present context it has become inextricably linked with the process... Hence my use is derived from habit rather than ignorance... 07-09-07 02:34:53 _____________________________________________________
johnmalong ::: Favorites Your master -- and not sifu, by the way, unless he's accepted you as a formal disciple and lineage holder -- may be exceptional. It's just that he's using the simplist method in his arsenal to overcome you because you don't challenge him. Since this is all you uploaded, that's all I see. Perhaps upload a video of him doing solo form. 07-09-06 15:36:26 _____________________________________________________
johnmalong ::: Favorites Cool down! Next time he gives a seminar in San Francisco, I'd be delighted to attend. Look, I've seen my share of credentialed masters. There's one on every block where I live. Hell, I'm even one myself --20th generation something-or-other. But seriously, the uploaded video is all I have to go on -- aside from your candid and understandably passionate words. 07-09-06 15:35:56 _____________________________________________________
rory2501 ::: Favorites Why not come along and try yourself... And as regards to challenge matches, our doors are always open... And you say you meant no disrespect, you essentially accused my Sifu of being an armchair warrior, a 'paper tiger' all well and good, but how easy it is to summon such pious bravery from the detachment of a computer screen... 07-09-05 06:43:27 _____________________________________________________
johnmalong ::: Favorites Sorry if I offended you, rory2501. Perhaps I should learn to hold my tongue. I meant no disrespect to you and your sifu. But when I see a taiji master in camo using obvious external power to push away his students who are running at him half-heartedly, I get a knot in my stomach. Perhaps if you uploaded a film of a challenge match between your sifu and one of those wing chun, jkd, karate, lau gar, eskrima experts my suspicions would dissolve. 07-09-05 00:44:50 _____________________________________________________
rory2501 ::: Favorites to who are you refering? 07-09-04 16:37:55 _____________________________________________________
hujin316 ::: Favorites some other dud that read a lot about martial arts and watch many dvds but as no practical understanding of it. 07-09-03 07:19:05 _____________________________________________________
evagolding ::: Favorites Sifu's teacher in China, Master Zhang Bo, the 4th generation of the Northern Wu, his video can be seen in the Quicklist. 07-09-01 20:38:30 _____________________________________________________
rory2501 ::: Favorites I have said here only what I have stated in response to every comment of this ilk, you may take or leave it, hope I have gone some way to explaining to you the nature of what it is we do... And if you remain unconvinced the challenge stands... 07-09-01 06:59:04 _____________________________________________________
rory2501 ::: Favorites fact who are willing to except any challenge from any style, we are among that number, surely you realise the fighting is no dance, it is not a thing of beauty, subtlety yes, but never beauty, Taiji is a beautiful art, but in combat it is relentlessly, brutally efficient that is all... 07-09-01 06:58:22 _____________________________________________________ |
