Violet, Scholars are the focus of "The History channel." And other's, they are not an opinion show of laymen. The Bible Authors where not alive during the life of Christ. Despite their first person sound, as if present with a steno machine, they wrote 60+ years later, and by word of mouth. There is no historical evidence the Christ even existed, despite dozens of Historians alive in the region at the time, nothing was recorded. If alive, it may have appeared to them then, that Jesus was---

a despot, deserving punishment for disrupting the temple, associating with the poor, blaspheming, by riding the ass from the east, and thus he was overlooked. Ancient gods Horace (3000bc), Mithra, Attis, Dionysus and multiple others have almost the identical story line as Jesus. Born to a virgin 12/25 dad was a god, performed miracles, Lamb or light of god, hung with 12 disciples, died 3 days arose again. Etc. See part 1 of zeitgeistmovie or 3rd video down at soilworks. org. Then comment back.

Sorry, I'll take real historical evidence from academic journals and scholars over the "History Channel" If you know you're history you know that the Canon was established was far before Constantine and taht the Gnostic gospels were written hundreds of years after Jesus's life. Their is more manuscript evidence for the Bible found than any other ancient manuscript in the world, but you get your education from cable so you wouldn't know that.

I totally believe in God (Jesus) Evolution can't be real think of it this way say people could have evolved the would have to start out as babies how would they grow? who fed them babies don't feed themselves. You leave a baby alone they are helpless. The Bible makes more sense.

Constantine "selectively chose" writings in order to unify the region and ordered all other's destroyed (If you read it cover to cover, and noted the contradictions, you might agree with the verbiage "slapped together"). The Gnostics, among others would not destroy their texts, and buried their scripts in caves rather than endure punishment. Those writings continue to surface. Check it out on the history channel, National Geographic, or Discovery channel.

I have watched the bible documentaries of scholars to have formed that opinion. Documentaries found there will be more objective than the sermons you hear in church. The first part of the zietgeistmovie may change the way you think about your religion. it's on the soilworks org site on the conspiracy page. The "logic on religion" and the "religion on religion" as well as the atheist pages are a compilation of youtube videos that may interest you.

If people want to call that initial spark that created life 'God', that's fine, but it can't be a personal God because the natural processes have been in place since that first life and there is no way that it can be guided towards an end result like humankind. It also can't be a moral God as evolution has dictated behavior. It also can't be an omniscient God because it wouldn't have known where it was headed.
